The risk of accidental needle-stick injuries is a growing concern these days. The Ontario Hospital Association estimates there’s between 6 and 30% chance of infection following a workplace injury from a needle contaminated with hepatitis B.

With the cost of testing and treatment now averaging in excess of $1,000's per incident, accidental needle sticks promise to be an unwanted drain on the each department and the cities they serve throughout the First Response Industry. Even more troubling, these figures do not take into account the cost of litiga­tion, OSHA violations, or the burden of long-term care-which can be as high as $600,000 for a serious infection. 

The FDA approved SHARP'S TERMINATOR® device is a stationary or portable needle destruction device that is intended for use by individuals and healthcare professionals to safely destroy 18-27 gauge needles up to 2 inches (approx. 5 cm). The device is for use in treatment settings such as treatment rooms, emer­gency /trauma rooms, wards, and medication rooms of Hospitals and Outpatient Clinics/Medical Offices, Dental Offices and Clinical Laboratories.
