In approximately three seconds, the Sharps Terminator® destroys 18 -27 gauge hypodermic needles at the point of procedure. Its also serves as a community safety device! Providing a compact, space saving yet portable & chargeable solution to First Responders in a number of life saving fields. IE: Police, Fireman, EMS, Coast Guard, Care Flight, and many other First Responders.

There is no substitution for caution when handling needles. Stop needle stick injuries at the point of procedure and reduce exposure to the dangerous hazards of needle disposal in any environment, most importantly the ones that save lives! First Responders!

The risk of accidental needle-stick injuries is a growing concern these days. It causes an enormous emotional toll on an individual and their loved ones, and is a costly expense for departments and the cities they serve. In addition to the uncertainty that comes with a needle-stick injury, with the Sharps Terminator, the hope is to minimize the risk to Police Officers, Firefighters, EMS, Coast Guard, Care Flight (all first responders) and even local DOTs, local park cleanup crews, and local recycling centers & landfill workers to ensure they're able to focus on keeping us secure, without putting their own safety in jeopardy!

First responders are at higher risk for exposure to hepatitis viruses and HIV,  there are many reports of viral hepatitis being contracted from accidental needle sticks, CPR and contact with bodily fluids during medical calls or through violence. It is important for fire, EMS and law enforcement personnel to know the risks, symptoms and how to protect themselves from exposure.

Why Needle Stick Injuries are so Serious:
Needle stick injuries are serious because they pose an unknown potential for risk.

Injuries from sharps can also lead to these risks. Sharps include needles, scalpels, razor blades, scissors, lancets or anything that can cut the skin.

Diseases that can be transferred by needles or sharps include:

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C
Herpes
Malaria
Syphilis
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
Diphtheria
Along with dozens of other blood borne pathogens.

The Ontario Hospital Association estimates there’s between 6 and 30% chance of infection following a workplace injury from a needle contaminated with hepatitis B.

Sharps Terminator® affords vital protection from the dangerous potential injected  diseases such as HEP B, HEP C, or even HIV.

With the cost of testing and treatment now averaging in excess of $1,000's per incident, accidental needle sticks promise to be an unwanted drain on the each department and the cities they serve throughout the First Response Industry. Even more troubling, these figures do not take into account the cost of litigation, OSHA violations, or the burden of long-term care-which can be as high as $600,000 for a serious infection.
