Product Introduction

The device must be positioned on a stable, flat surface in close proximity to where the injection is administered. The needle can then be destroyed at the point of procedure by means of an efficient, one-handed operation.

Compact, portable and battery operated. The exterior of the device is made of ABS plastic. Four non-skid PVC feet secure the unit from moving when placed on a flat surface. The device measures 18cm high x 12cm in diameter and it weighs 1650g.

FDA Approved, the Sharps Terminator® has been tested by independent laboratories to verify that the refuse produced by the destruction process does not contain any harmful contaminants, and that no harmful vapors are emitted.

Our Purpose

The Sharps Terminator® isn't just another needle disposal method. By utilizing cutting edge technology, the device reduces waste costs, eliminates second hand needle usage, and reduces accidental needle sticks substantially with proper use; Saving the environment, saving cost, and saving lives.

The Sharps Terminator® is designed to destroy a wide variety of stainless steel and aluminum needle types from 0.3mm to 1.2mm (18 – 27 gauge) up to 2 inches (approx. 5 cm). Sharps Terminator® can be used to burn 40 to 200 needles before recharging (depending on the size of the needle).

Product Demonstration 

A used needle is inserted in a housing of a needle apparatus disabling device. As the needle is pushed downwards sealing a collar opening and bears against a stationary cutter blade. The needle is pushed further into the device where it contacts upper and lower electrodes. 

An electric current passes through the needle, which causes it to become heated resistively to destruction. A voltage drop between the electrodes is detected by a processor activating a motor driven movable cutter blade which then severs a remaining stub or remnant of the needle portion and simultaneously urges the severed stub downwardly onto the electrodes to ensure its complete destruction. 

During this process any sparks or airborne contaminants, or combustion gases are prevented from escaping through the opening by the sealing action of the apparatus.
